On 1st February the national hydropower company Hidroelectrica approved the purchase of 108 MW Crucea Wind Park from German developer STEAG. This followed a highly competitive bid from local and international players and marks the first M&A of its kind in Romania's public sphere.
Crucea is one of the largest wind parks in the country, developed by STEAG in 2014, and benefitting from the state support scheme up until 2029. Hidroelectrica pledged 5.4 M EUR to diversification efforts, and the intention to maintain a 100% green portfolio.
